Pets
Pets will be allowed for the 2026 season. There is a $150 (check) refundable pet deposit required at check-in, that will be returned at check-out once the cabin has been checked. Bring an extra check for the pet deposit; we'll hold it until after check-out and return to you if there is no sign the pet was in the cabin. There is a two-dog max allowance per cabin.
Payment Policy:

A reservation deposit totaling 50% of the rental charge is required to secure all reservations. For reservations placed between January 1st and April 1st, the deposit is due within two weeks of the reservation being made. Deposits for reservations made after April 1st are due at the time the reservation is made. Reservations for bookings in the following year require a $100 deposit when the reservation is made. The balance of the required 50% deposit is due no later than March 31st of the year in which the reservation is scheduled to take place. Failure to pay the required deposit as set forth above will result in the reservation being cancelled and forfeit of deposit. All credit card transactions will have a 4% processing fee applied.
Cancellation Policy:

Reservation deposits are non-refundable and are tied to a specific guest and cabin. They are not transferrable to another guest's stay. The deposit for a canceled reservation (including early departures/shortening stay dates) may, however, be applied to another reservation for the same guest within a twelve-month period provided Hoot Owl receives the notification of the cancellation 14 days or more prior to the scheduled check-in date. The entire deposit is forfeited if a new reservation is not made within twelve months. The entire deposit is also forfeited if the reservation is canceled 13 or fewer days prior to the scheduled check-in date and Hoot Owl is unable to rent the unit to another party during the same time period, for the entire duration of the canceled reservation. Hoot Owl also reserves the right to cancel any reservation at any time.
No Show Policy:

No Show Reservations will be released at 4pm the day after check-in if there has been no contact from the guest about delayed arrival. The full remaining balance for the cabin will be charged to the card on file.
Minimum Stay Policy:

To maintain the quality and consistency of our guest experience, we require a minimum stay for all reservations. This policy helps us ensure that our rates remain competitive and that our accommodations are prepared to the highest standards. If you want to book - the Rate is called Short Stay Flex Rate when you are booking online.
Exceptions:
In rare and exceptional cases, we may approve a reservation that does not meet the minimum stay requirement. These exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability.
Cleaning Fee for Exceptions:
For any approved exception to the minimum stay policy, a mandatory $25 Fee (per night) will be added to the rate. This fee helps offset the additional costs associated with shorter stays, as our pricing is structured around the minimum stay requirement.
Late Checkout Policy
Check-out time is 9:00 AM on your departure day.
Late Departures (after 9:00 AM):
Any departure after 9:00 AM will incur a $50 Late Departure Fee.Extended Late Checkouts (1:00 PM or later):
Guests requesting or remaining in the cabin until 1:00 PM or later will be charged the full additional nightly rate, as this impacts cleaning schedules and incoming guest reservations.
Late checkout requests must be approved in advance and are subject to availability.
