Can't do that week? A second reunion week is open Saturday, June 26 – Friday, July 2, 2027 (checkout July 3), with eight cabins available. Ask about it when you call.
Why reunions work here
Nobody has to host. No one's house becomes headquarters, no one cooks for thirty out of a home kitchen, and no one sleeps on an air mattress in a hallway. You get the together-time; we provide the place.
- 72 acres between two lakes — Hoot Owl Lake and Pickerel Lake, with a sandy beach, swim dock and raft, and room to spread out
- A lodge for the big family dinner — the one meal where everybody sits down together, plus lodge space with a pool table, ping pong, board games, and a 2,000 sq ft multipurpose room upstairs if the weather turns
- Something for every age — fishing on both lakes, free kayaks, canoes and paddleboats (first come, first served), sand volleyball, shuffleboard, tetherball, bocce ball, a children's playground, and a fire ring at every cabin for the evening storytelling shift
- New for 2026: an onsite sauna and a 5-hole mini golf course
- A 14′ aluminum boat with oars — or dock space for your own boat — comes with every cabin rental; 6 HP motors are available to rent
- About 30 minutes to Itasca State Park for a day trip during the week
We're a family-owned resort — Heather and Christian Davis, your hosts — in Waubun, Minnesota: 45 min NE of Detroit Lakes, 45 min NW of Park Rapids.

How a reunion block works
- The organizer calls first. One call to 218-204-0219 anchors your week — we talk through which cabins fit which families, and your dates are set.
- Relatives book their own cabins. Each family reserves and pays for its own cabin against your block, online or by phone. Nobody has to collect money from cousins (the best gift a reunion organizer can get).
- Everyone shows up the same Saturday. Check-in is 4:00 PM or later; check in at the office when you arrive, and call ahead if you'll be in after 8 PM.
Holding your cabins for 2027: because this is a next-year booking, each cabin is held with a $100 payment at booking. The balance of each cabin's deposit (50% of the rental charge in total) is due by March 31, 2027 — and any cabins in your block that aren't booked by then are released back to general availability on March 31, the same easy deadline our regular guests run on. The remaining rental balance is due no later than the night before checkout. That gives every family in your group months to pay their share — no big bill in November.
Good to know — reunion FAQ
Can we bring our dogs?
Yes — dogs are welcome, up to 2 per cabin. There's a $150 refundable pet deposit (by check) at check-in, returned at check-out if the cabin check is clean.
What about meals? Is there a restaurant?
Every cabin has a full kitchen, and the lodge restaurant is open Friday–Saturday, 3–8 PM in the summer season. For your group's big shared dinner, we're open to providing food & beverage service at the lodge — group menus are reviewed when you enquire, so bring us your ideas when you call.
What if it rains?
Your week doesn't wash out. The lodge — including the 2,000 sq ft multipurpose room upstairs — is your weather backup for group gatherings, games, and the big dinner.
Where does everyone park?
Parking is at your cabin, and there's room for extra vehicles and boat trailers — overflow parking is on the hill and behind the shop.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in 4:00 PM or later in peak season; check-out is 9:00 AM. A late check-out ($15/hour, up to 4 hours) is possible with prior approval — ask when you book.
Do we need to bring linens or kitchen gear?
No. Bed linens, kitchen towels, and a stocked kitchen (dishes, cookware, coffee maker, toaster) are provided. Bring your own bath towels, soap, and shampoo.
What will the deposit situation look like for each family?
$100 per cabin holds the reservation now; the rest of the 50% deposit is due by March 31, 2027; the final balance is due by the night before checkout. Deposits are non-refundable, but if a family has to cancel 14+ days before check-in, their deposit can move to a new reservation for that same guest within 12 months.
How far is everything?
Waubun, MN — 45 min NE of Detroit Lakes, 45 min NW of Park Rapids, and about 30 minutes from Itasca State Park. Quiet hours are 11 PM–8 AM (campfires can go to midnight if they're quiet).
